Writ of Non Compliance
If you were recreating in an area that requires a recreation fee, and your proof of payment or pass was either absent or invalid you might have received a Writ of Non-Compliance Notice. Failure to comply with the Posted Fee Instructions can result in prosecution by the District Attorney for Defrauding an Innkeeper (Section 76 Utah Criminal Code). These facilities are located on National Forest System land and are operated under a Special Use Permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service policy that prohibits discrimination because of race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, or handicapping condition.
Scan & Pay
Didn’t make a reservation in advance and looking to grab a campsite when you arrive? Available at select campgrounds, the Recreation.gov mobile app now features Scan & Pay to pay directly from your mobile device for first come, first served campsites.
EASY MOBILE PAYMENT
Claim your spot by placing your equipment down and using the camera on your phone to scan the unique campground QR code to pay for the campsite.
NO NEED TO WAIT OR CARRY CASH
Payment is conveniently made right on your phone, without the hassle of waiting in line, carrying cash, or writing a check and dropping it in a fee tube.
NO SIGNAL, NO PROBLEM
Even in remote areas with no cell service, Scan & Pay allows you to pay when you’re offline and then processes your transaction once you’re back online.
